2010 Funston Air Races

The Funston Air Races was great fun this past weekend (August 28th)...

A couple dozen pilots showed up for some ridge racing competition in fairly strong wind conditions and great fun was had by all. Heading right from launch to Westlake was new to me, though...I typically like to have some altitude before I make the trek south. We didn't have that option, though, at the air races.

ACP Marginal Mark Lilledahl was there taking pictures and created this cool little slide show...

The Flying Canuck helping Brian Foster prior to launching...

Tim West getting a wire assist by Chief...

Getting some help from Chief out to launch...

Launching...

Style points on landing...

And, as always, we Ace Comp Pilots can go nowhere without the media making their presence known...

A good time was had by all...looking forward to next year when I'll have a clue as to how the turn point works!
