This past Friday, Waddell was showing some mid-day promise, so that is where I ended up.
I arrived around noon...I was already late...the bluff had been on for at least an hour or two, so I set up quickly.
Winds were blowing 18 to 20...I hooked in and got the mighty Sport 2 down to the launch area...
In no time I was in the air and getting up to 200 to 250 feet above launch, which was all the day was going to allow...
I tried to make the crossing over to the upper bluff, but there was little fun over in that area...
...so I stayed in the fishbowl for an hour and 47 minutes working my way to within 25 minutes of my career 500 hour mark.
JT arrived and got into the air for the last 20 minutes of my flight.
But, this post is not about JT...this post is about ME!
The winds then ramped up and it was time to land 15 minutes sooner than my intended goal of a full two hours...I set myself up deep at the end of the runway and got turned at the last second, but was still able to control the glider without a whack...all good for Waddell.
A great way to wrap up the week...great flying and poison oak to boot!
Note to self...never take a leak after breaking down your glider in poison oak...
Flight time: 1 hour, 47 minutes
