McClure Mother's Day Weekend

We headed on over to McClure this past weekend for some fun flying and camping.

After a low save on Saturday, I enjoyed some of the scenery and got a little bit of that on the GoPro...

My filming interest apparently had diminished that flight, so that is all you get...

Long story short...Saturday's flight was really rewarding...landed right by our campsite with the Canuck and a few beers.

Mr. Foster was kind enough to drive my truck down for the retrieve and joined us...camping was fun and the 45 minute wait for our burgers at the Lumberyard was entertaining to say the least.

Sunday was more flying...unless you decided to leave McClure and go fly Waddell.

Let's discuss this for a moment...

You're at McClure, and at around 10:30 AM, you decide to go fly Waddell...

: )

Sunday was better than Saturday...

First, the Canuck decided to drive, which was great!

The thermals were a little more developed and the lift not as sporadic...those that stayed for day two of the weekend all had decent flights.

I kind of had my sights toward heading out cross country, but there seemed to be few options other than the over-the-back hop to Coulterville...not today.

However, I was able to break through the inversion layer and kiss 4400' MSL on Sunday which was rewarding...hadn't been that high at McClure in a while...good time.

Saturday: 45 minutes
Sunday: 1 hour, 10 minutes
