After chasing our tails for the better part of the morning, Charlie, JT, Ryan, Trey, and I decided Marina was the place to fly...
We all drove separate vehicles down to the duney flying site in typical ACP fashion...it's how we roll.
Ryan dominating the sky, as always...
Once parking was had, we set up quickly and were in the air...

It had been 4 to 5 years since I last flew Marina, and my dune gooning skills were a tad rusty. But, I managed a decent launch at the set-up area, worked the ramp area for a few passes, then headed south toward the larger dunes...
John Taylor...always happy to see me, and anyone for that matter!
The winds were straight in, but we had to stay in tight at first as we headed south. Once above the larger dunes, the flying became a little more effortless with areas of extreme smoothness mixed with little bouts of 10 foot invisible tumble weeds rolling beneath our gliders...just enough to make things interesting.

During my flight, I headed down to Sand City, hopping along the dunes, then working my way back and forth for about 3 hours of flying time.
Afterward, we headed to Eric Froehlich's new house in Marina for dinner and a beer or two...a nice way to end the day.
