...at McClure this past weekend (2.4.12 & 2.5.12).
Brian, Ryan, Chad, and I decided to pile into the Toyota and fly McClure this weekend...it was a good call. Once there, we hooked up with the locals at McClure in addition to the French Boys, Gerry Pez, Firefighter Chris and a bunch of other Bay Area pilots.
Saturday, 16 pilots were in the air...I was second to last to launch and eeked out 1 1/2 hours after a low save right off launch...very rewarding. We could explore anywhere from launch to Schwill to Pino to Horseshoe...lots of fun. I had a great time bobbling around in a thermal with Gerry Pez over by Horseshoe, then racing our way back to the south bowl for another go at working whatever thermals there were. I managed to get to 4160' MSL on Saturday...
Sunday, I launched after KM and was thermaling well soon in the south bowl, but felt the urge to show off by buzzing launch and sunk out after only 15 minutes. But, it was worth it...I'd always wanted to buzz launch and finally got my chance.
The weekend was filled with great friends, too. Saturday night we camped up at launch after dinner at the Saloon in Coulterville. Sunday, we grabbed breakfast before another day of flying (and showing off).

McClure always clears my head...
