Lakeview Nationals ~ Day Six

From the bailout LZ I bring you today's flight report here in Lakeview!

I thought we'd be flying Hadley's Butte from what I could make of the weather. Instead we were back at Sugar for some difficult thermal conditions on day six of the meet...The task called was Sugar, to Fort Bidwell, to Flagstaff Lake, then back to Adel...

My flight won't take long to talk about: Great launch, got above launch right away, got below launch right away, flew with Red Tail Hawk for a moment off the nose of my glider until he got bored, scratched like hell, nice landing with about 1/2 dozen others...I thought another low save would happen today, but I couldn't pull it off.

This is turning point day in the meet, however, as not all the lead pilots made goal, and others who had been doing well found themselves in the bailout LZ.

The overall stats as of this flying day are here: Meet Stats

Some pics from the day...

Mike Soderstrom was breaking down his glider about 20 feet from this guy, so we turned the truck around to let him know of his new friend...

The line to launch...

Tom "I can't lift my glider" Flynn on launch...

Christine Nidd just north of Fort Bidwell...

Dog and old truck on our way up to Adel from Fort Bidwell...

Bruce Bousfield in line to launch...

Tomorrow, the last day of the meet, we're looking at light winds from the WSW...

Fly safe!
