Since Veteran's Day is this Monday, I decided to take Friday off for a four day weekend.
Waddell seemed to be the only area to fly, so that is where JT and I headed.
First, we had breakfast at the Whale City Bakery Bar & Grill...a bakery, bar, and grill tends to have everything I need.
Although JT tends to pick at his food, he was very generous and bought breakfast for both of us...
I always clean my plate...
We then hung out on the bluff and waited...
At 2PM it was time to fly as the winds had ramped up to soarable, but from the north nonetheless...
I tried launch from the west launch first, but it was too squirrelly...
Then I tried the regular launch more toward the north...still cross...but I was able to find my comfort zone and launched...
I was up in no time, but it was going to be fish bowl flying today...
With very little lift beyond the campground, I was trapped between there and just south of launch...a small window to soar.
I wanted to land at 7 minutes, but decided to press on and make the best of the ratty conditions.
Diev and Ryan showed up later on and got in a short flight each, as well.
The scenery is always beautiful at Waddell no matter what conditions the bluff deliver...
A good day off from work and a good day hanging out on the bluff with JT, Ryan, & Diev...
Flight Time: 1 hour, 47 minutes
Max Altitude: 357 msl
