I've been trying to find the best way to utilize the space in the back of my 2009 Tacoma for camping, hanggliding, and general use.
One thing I don't like is having to move stuff to get at more stuff, or move stuff to sleep and camp in the back of my truck on flying trips.
So, I purchased two 4 x 8 sheets of cabinet grade 3/4" plywood at Home Depot and got started.

I still need to reinforce the platform front, back, and middle to accommodate a heavier load, but so far I am happy with the path this project is taking.
The Tacoma truck bed really invites this kind of use with built in rails that allow for a 57" wide platform over the wheel wells, plus it was fun to use my old carpentry tools.
The area beneath the platform will have a slideout cargo platform from Cargo Glide (Model CG 1000S).
The cargo platform should arrive this week and I'll be posting "Part 2" at that time!
Bang!
