A strong shear rolled through Funston Sunday and at least a dozen and a half pilots got up into it, then had a hard time getting back down. I struggled at first to break through into the smoother air, but once I broke through, it was really fun.
The wind velocity higher up exceeded my Sport 2's ability to penetrate, so I drifted backward for a while, then eased my way forward into the wind.
Toward the end I made a series of s-turns to get back down as I could feel the wind ramping up...it was time to land.
Great time, though, in challenging conditions.
